This is my pitch for my novel:
Prince Conell De Caprise’ secret childish mistake leads to his parents’ death, leaving him broken and unworthy of the past Kings of Ezasu. The regent queen whom he trusted eventually betrays and imprisons him, making him bitter and angry with God.
On the day before his execution, seventeen year old Conell and his two companions escape her prison. They reluctantly take with them a teenage girl who claims a strange medallion brought her to Ezasu. Despite the urges from his two friends to reclaim his throne, Conell leads his small band to the safety of the Southern boarders. His guilt over his parents’ death and fear of the Queen drives him. But it isn’t Conell that the Regent Queen and her demon lover long to capture. The medallion had been hidden for years and now that it has resurfaced, it will either destroy them or they enslave the girl in order to harness the medallion’s power and rule all of Ezasu and beyond. As the queen’s demon pursues the group, Conell realizes in order to save the girl and his friends, he must face his guilt filled secret and his fear of the queen, while trusting a God he hates. If he doesn’t, than the girl will become the demon’s slave and once again, he will lose his loved ones.
